Social networking will never hit any generation harder than the 90’s and 2000’s, myspace spearheading the whole thing. Being on the grid is a way for people to stay in touch at a distance. There are multiple pros and cons to be active in maintaining “your site”. A shared pro and con is how willing you are to be open with your life; you could be an open book, but that can also lead towards to much information. Also, there is the business only type people and the stay-in-a-dark-room-all-day, with most between that spectrum. I keep up with a few myself: facebook, twitter, instagram, and tumblr. (Why do social networks like using lower case?) If that seems like a lot, it is; well, in my book anyways.

When myspace started in the early 2000’s I thought it was pretty cool. I got to post music on my page; it is probably a feature I miss from social sites nowadays. In the beginning of facebook, I had the same posting tendencies as everyone else, then these new networking sites came out. Going away from facebook is because all the sites I stay active on are specific breakdowns of what I used facebook for in the first place. Instagram to update what I’m currently doing; Twitter to tweet random bits of myself and trivia. Lastly, tumblr is to write and expand on thoughts I have.

What all social site have in common are followers. When I post or update I tend towards two influences; I either post because I want to be validated, or just because. The validation part is more for instagram; who does not want to be instafamous on instagram? The other times I remain oblivious to the followers and just post whatever.

After some time, I started to realize something; there is an immense spike in passive aggression. There are so many posts and updates that are literally begging for that “like”. It is as if the post were attached to a giant neon sign. I am guilty of those posts, I’ll admit it. People will respond or like of course, but what I am interested in are the people who don’t. There I have been so many times where I wonder if a person’s post following mine the same passive aggression I posted with. On multiple occasion this feeling comes up and makes me want to read between the lines or find a correlation. I may be crazy, but I swear this happens.

If I were to make this a generalization, this allows people to get away with spiteful comments or complements. This misdirection is so powerful. Then again, I read into things more than I should. Trying to explain or justify what people do is impossible; everyone is different. Welcome to crazy town Paolo.

“Lights! Action! Bass drop! Mind numbing! 124 beats per! Twice the speed of a beating heart!”

Playing through Assassin’s Creed Revelations and this song came up. Desmond’s journeys were very fun playing through, giving an insight to how he felt becoming an Assassin. From a shallow context, Desmond and Ezio had something in common: their love for women hahaha
